TBI stakeholder plan-Spokane Washington

August 13th 7:PM St-Lukes Rehab Room 200

The TBI council will be presenting their statewide comprehensive plan to the Legislature and Governors office in November/December 2008. Before they submit the final plan they want to get feedback on the “draft” recommendations. They will take that feedback to the council committees for review and consideration before making final drafts.

They have started the planning process for a stakeholder/public input process. They believe it’s important to include the Spokane area in this process.

What they would like to accomplish is have a simple gathering made up from as many survivors, family members, caregivers, service providers, case managers as possible.

Over View of the plan

1.    Brief Presentation about the current Work of the TBI council

2.    Overview the expectations for those attending the meeting

·         Share draft council recommendations with the group

·         Break up into small groups – provide feedback to the recommendations

·         Capture the small group’s response/reaction

This would be our opportunity to have our voices heard, and our concerns, and our opportunity to begin advocating for our needs in Eastern Washington.

 Annual Picnic

Our picnic was a success, we estimate we had about 300 people sharing information and having a good time.  Lots of food was donated to make this a great event, and we would like to thank Egger Meats, OreWheat, Charley's Produce, Safeway on N. Market, Albertsons on Northwest Blvd, The Gourmet Picnic Co, Food Sevice of America, Cash and Carry on S McKinnon, Dean's Dist, Subway.
