HB 2999 (TBI Statute Revision Act)
Help prevent the governor's attempt to Scoop the TBI Account
Killed By Rep. Kelli Linville |
Hello support family,
Shame on representative Kelli Linville (D) 42 district, house bill 2999 died in our legislature because she decided not to take it to a vote. This bill was a bill to meet critical needs for individuals with traumatic brain injury. These individuals who are affected our veterans, mothers, fathers, children 160,000 in the state of Washington. People are committing suicide, becoming homeless, losing everything they had and were.
The citizens of Washington banned together and created money through adding $2 on every moving violation, but because of how the original law was the money could not be fully accessed for its purpose. HB2999 was a step to fix these loopholes. But instead of taking HB2999 to a vote, a bill that was passed unanimous though out the legislation session. Its fate was determined by one person who’s decision will now take that money which so many fought so hard to create to help the over half a millions people effected by tbi and take that money to make up our states deficit.
The hundreds of testimonies, the thousands of cries for help ignored by one person. As we beg to use these resources to help the hopeless who are shooting “I Give Up” and just ignoring so many. This is so wrong, this is why folks have such a bad taste for politics.
I Give Up.mp3
I Believe this song represents so many of the hundreds of thousands of victims and families. We have the power she has to be re-elected, and when that time come this issue cannot be forgotten. Our song will change to “I Will Never Give Up”
We have one chance and that is to convince our senate to bring this issue to the front and that is very difficult and unusual but it has happened So contact your senators and representatives and demand action.

WPAS Becomes DRW Washington Protection & Advocacy System
Pursuing justice on behalf of people with disabilities on matters related to their human, legal, and civil rights.
Promoting Dignity, Equality and Self-Determination.
http://www.disabilityrightswa.org/
As part of a national trend in the Protection and Advocacy network, effective June 1, 2007 WPAS changed its name to Disability Rights Washington.
As DRW, our agency will continue to operate as our state's designated Protection and Advocacy system.
DRW will also operate under the same federal mandates to serve people with disabilities throughout the State of Washington.
Parts of this website will remain under construction as we complete the shift from WPAS to DRW. Thank you for your patience as we work through this exciting transition!
If you are looking for information and cannot find it here, please see our old website at www.wpas-rights.org .
This site is dedicated to Alexis, Arionna and Carey from the extreme loss and pain their family had to go through due to lack of imformation in hopes that it can help save other families who will be going through a TBI
